About the Role

PRL Industries is hiring experienced Manual and CNC Machinists to support the expansion of its machining operations in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. This role focuses on production machining and machine setup using manual and CNC mills, lathes, and boring machines to produce precision components used in submarine programs.

Machinists will work from blueprints and technical drawings to machine parts from castings, bar stock, and other materials while maintaining extremely tight tolerances and high quality standards. These roles are production-focused and do not require full programming responsibilities.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate manual and/or CNC milling machines, boring machines, and lathes
• Machine parts from castings, bar stock, and other materials to customer specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and written machining procedures
• Maintain tight machining tolerances, in some cases as precise as .0002"
• Select appropriate speeds, feeds, cutting tools, and workholding methods
• Use inspection equipment and measuring tools to verify part quality
• Perform minor edits to CNC programs at the machine when needed (G and M code familiarity)
• Assist with fixture and jig setup to support machining operations
• Record production data and maintain documentation related to work performed
• Operate shop equipment such as forklifts or overhead cranes as required Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow safety procedures and participate in required safety training

Must-Have Skills and Experience

• Experience operating manual and/or CNC milling, boring, or lathe machines
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machining drawings
• Experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment
• Knowledge of machining fundamentals including feeds, speeds, tooling, and workholding
• Understanding of shop math, trigonometry, and GD&T principles
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• High school diploma or equivalent

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Associate's degree or technical training in machining or manufacturing
• Experience editing CNC programs at the machine (G and M codes)
• Experience machining castings and bar stock materials
• Experience assisting with jig and fixture design

• Schedule:

  • $25-$50 per hour, depending on years of machining experience and demonstrated skill level.

As a Commissioning/Qualification/Validation Project Engineer, you lead project teams including Project Engineers to deliver systems that are safe, functional, and compliant with design requirements and regulations. You are accountable for overall project execution, client communication, financial management, and team leadership to ensure successful outcomes. This is a full-time, 1st shift exempt position that reports to the President and is in North Carolina.

Primary responsibilities of the position include:

• Lead project scope evaluation and develop commissioning and qualification plans in collaboration with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders.
• Develop project estimates and proposals. Develop change orders as necessary.
• Manage and coordinate project deliverables across commissioning, qualification, and validation disciplines, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met or exceeded.
• Supervise Project Engineers, providing guidance, mentoring, performance management, and conducting regular performance reviews.
• Delegates project tasks to Project Engineers, based on complexity and experience. Reviews and approves documentation prepared by Project Engineers and Technical Writers.
• Monitor project schedules and resource allocation, adjusting plans as necessary to meet company objectives and utilization targets.
• Ensure comprehensive project documentation complies with internal and client standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., ASHRAE, CFR), and Company policies and procedures.
• Oversee project budgets, track performance against financial metrics, communicate billing needs, and develop and submit change orders as required.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, attending meetings, managing expectations, building relationships, and pursuing new work opportunities.
• Promote a culture of safety by ensuring OSHA and other relevant regulations are followed on all projects.
• Regular and reliable attendance at work.

Additional responsibilities of the position include:

• Other duties as assigned by Company Management.
• Complete required company training each month.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in capital project delivery, construction, commissioning, and document management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with ability to mentor and develop staff.
• Exceptional project management, organizational, and multitasking capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of managing client relationships at all levels.
• Demonstrated financial acumen to manage project budgets and billing processes effectively.
• High degree of technical knowledge in commissioning, qualification, validation, and related construction processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. The typical schedule is based on an eight-hour workday and a forty-hour workweek, excluding meal breaks. Employees typically take a 30-60-minute unpaid lunch break during the day. Because our work supports construction and commissioning activities, work hours may vary based on project requirements, client needs, or site conditions.

Engineers benefit from approximately four months off each year during December, January, June, and July.

• Heavy maintenance experience and strong leadership ability

• Military leadership experience highly valued, especially veterans with electrical, mechanical, or electronics maintenance backgrounds

• Complete classroom and lab training in Orlando during the first 12 months combined with field training at multiple customer sites
• Work directly with senior field service engineers to develop skills in equipment operation, maintenance, job site safety, project management, leadership, and business systems
• Supervise technicians and mechanics during turbine generator equipment maintenance outages
• Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble turbines and generators
• Coordinate upgrades of mechanical and electrical systems to improve output and efficiency
• Collaborate with engineering staff on specialized testing
• Serve as the primary customer contact during outages and ensure timely and accurate repairs
• Work extended hours while deployed, typically 12–14 hours per day including weekends and holidays

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Master’s degree a plus
• Military veterans with backgrounds such as Electrician’s Mate, Machinist’s Mate, or Industrial Electronics Technician (E6 or above)
