  • Collaborate with the Field Service team to improve commissioning processes, plan standard work, and develop work scope for new technology.
  • Document maintenance activities as required for Field Service Reports.
  • Provide controls and electrical support during Test-Line Commissioning and field service events for RPS projects.
  • Internal and External customer focal point for all field related electrical/controls problems.
  • Solicit direct customer feedback on RPS controls and provide this feedback to the organization to continuously improve our customer relations.
  • Provide prompt technical support for service revealed controls related problems. Includes developing and implementing technical solutions to ensure solutions are brought to the field and production in a cost-effective manner while meeting customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to troubleshoot field issues, provide recommendations for improved performance, root cause analysis, and assist in development of new technology.
  • Provide support to RPS Engineering in the in-house testing of new control system designs and evaluation of improvements related to control system fixes.
  • Collaborate with RPS Electrical FSE's, learn the requirements to perform electrical and controls commissioning tasks.
  • Sign-off and take accountability for control system commissioning and re-commissioning.
  • Be available for on-call support after hours and weekends.
  • Travel as needed to support the controls and electrical commissioning of customers refurbished and new engines in multiple geographic areas.
  • Support configuration tracking of customer engines.
  • Support the customer's and RPS environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Project management responsibilities for customer specific projects. Includes initial feasibility studies, contract definition, commissioning activities, schedule fidelity, subcontractor management, and customer interface.
  • Provide technical guidance and input during development of RPS new projects/programs.
  • Provide input to RPS technology roadmap and strategic business plan.
  • Develop, approve, and implement methods to achieve cost and schedule reductions, performance, and quality enhancements.

  • Deals effectively in a dynamic environment, maintaining focus and continuity with customers, subcontractors, and senior management. Work cross functionally within the RPS teams.

  • Demonstrated expertise and hands-on experience in commissioning and troubleshooting controls and electrical systems in the field. Delivery on internal and external commitments.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written, provide clear and concise technical field service reports.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards and procedures.
  • Physically able to perform the tasks as required. Ability to pass an eye exam, sufficient visual acuity to perform inspections as needed.

  • Experience with Oil & Gas regulations and meeting product certification requirements.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.
  • Travel domestically up to 65% of the time in support of RPS fielded products.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience - Demonstrated experience with programming, field application modifications. Experience with Woodward Controls, GE MKle Controls, and Micro Net ControlsPLC is highly recommended. Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers, such as Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, Wago Fieldbus, or similar industrial controllers. Have an understanding with programming in high level programming languages (C, IEC-61131-3 Structured Text, Java script, ladder logics, etc.) desired, but not essential.
