Laser Track Technician (Metrology Tech CMS Level II)

About the Role

Keel is seeking an experienced Laser Track Technician to support high-precision metrology and inspection activities for defense manufacturing programs. This role performs advanced dimensional inspections using Laser Trackers and portable CMM devices to ensure compliance with customer, NAVSEA, and internal quality standards. The position plays a key role in validating large-scale assemblies for submarine and aircraft carrier programs.

What You'll Do

• Perform product and process inspections using standardized inspection methods with minimal supervision
• Utilize Laser Trackers and portable CMM devices (PCMM) to verify dimensional accuracy
• Visually and physically inspect parts against blueprints and work order specifications
• Create and review digital inspection reports
• Complete customer-required quality packages
• Use Statistical Process Control tools to evaluate process capability
• Assist in prioritizing metrology department activities
• Perform calibration of measuring and test equipment as required
• Train new metrology team members on inspection techniques
• Support quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Must-Have Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Inspector or related role
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating Laser Tracker or Articulated Arm equipment
• Minimum 3 years of Spatial Analyzer software experience
• CMS Level II Certification (Coordinate Metrology Society Level II)
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings

• Experience using Microsoft Excel for reporting and documentation

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing service, repair, and troubleshooting work in a safe, efficient, and customer-focused manner. This role includes accurately tracking productive labor time versus travel time, performing preventive maintenance in accordance with established service programs, and maintaining detailed service documentation such as work orders and parts usage. You will stay current on equipment updates and ANSI A156.10 standards while ensuring technical manuals, company vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained. Additionally, you will manage service vehicle inventory, provide high-quality customer service, build strong customer relationships, and assist with training and mentoring other technicians on installation and service methods.

• Weld pre-fitted assemblies in all positions with minimal defects
• ·Perform FCAW, GMAW-Pulsed, and GMAW-Spray welding in accordance with NAVSEA and AWS D1.1 standards

Reporting to the COO, the Region Director of Operations will oversee and lead operations across 5 manufacturing sites across the Northeast. This role will focus on standardizing processes, improving efficiency, and driving profitability while fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operations leader with a track record of success in high-volume, low-margin manufacturing environments. This leader will drive strategic initiatives, improve asset utilization and lead cultural transformation to enhance performance and scalability.

The Region Director will be responsible for roughly 400 employees across the 5 sites, with 7-10 direct report operational leaders.

Location: Garner, NC, Long Island, NY, Buffalo, NY, Windsor, NJ or Peabody, MA – must live near or be willing to relocate near one of these locations. Company will assist with relocation expenses.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee P&L for multiple manufacturing locations, ensuring profitability, cost management, and sustainable growth.
• Drive standardization and structure by implementing best practices across all sites to enhance consistency and operational alignment.
• Establish and track KPIs to monitor and drive plant performance, including safety, quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.
• Implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize asset utilization.
• Continuously identify and implement strategies to streamline operations, reduce downtime, and enhance manufacturing capabilities while preparing for future growth.
• Drive the adoption of technology solutions such as ERP, MES, and other digital tools for operational optimization.
• Ensure manufacturing operations are aligned with customer expectations, delivering high quality, reliable, and responsive service.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in manufacturing, including proven ability to manage multi-site P&L responsibility.
• Strong background in high-volume, low-margin manufacturing; packaging or printing industry experience strongly preferred.
• Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization methodologies.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven success in managing complex, matrixed organizations and working cross-functionally to deliver business outcomes.
• Ability to travel 50-75% to oversee and manage site operations.

Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

The Electro-Mechanical (E&M) Technician will support the factory by doing both electrical and mechanical maintenance and projectwork. Initially, the job emphasis will be to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install the electrical, control, andinstrumentation systems of the manufacturing site. Overtime, the intention is to use on the job training to qualify thisemployee to perform the necessary mechanical jobs needed to support the site. This position requires the ability to workoccasional overtime and participate in the call-out rotation as needed to maintain the site's production capability.

Essential Job Functions:

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install the electrical, control and instrumentation systems of the manufacturing site. Equipment is 24v - 480v. Examples are motor control center buckets, local disconnects, power distribution panels, 3 phase motors, VFDs, instruments, relays, automatic valves.
• Strictly adhere to electrical and arcflash PPE and safety requirements as well as Lock, Tag, Try and other basic safety programs
• Install and troubleshoot flow, pressure, level, position sensors etc. as well as control valves and other automation related equipment
• Implement basic electrical projects like running conduit or cable tray and wire to install motors, automatic valves, instruments etc.
• Work with site mechanics to qualify to perform site mechanical activities on industrial equipment [Rotating equipment like pumps and agitators, gear boxes, pipefitting, welding]

Must-Have Experience, and Education::

• High school diploma or GED required at the time of hiring.
• Industrial electrician with 3-5 year's minimum experience with 480v power distribution systems and components [Motor Control Center buckets, Power distribution panels, Motors, VFDs]
• Experience working with and troubleshooting 24v to 480v systems
• Experience doing industrial mechanical maintenance work
• Some pipefitting experience

Must-Have Skills:

• Good 24v - 480v equipment and instrumentation troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with installation, troubleshooting, and replacement of field instrumentation like pressure, flow, level, and position sensors, VFDs, control valves and other automation equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to read/interpret CAD based drawings for repair/installation of electrical/piping equipment.
• No issue working in confined spaces
• Be able to lift up to sixty (60) pounds, walk, sit, squat, bend, push/pull with arms/leg, reach overhead and stoop.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to balance responsibilities for given priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically and provide timely and effective solutions.

• Forklift / Skid-Steer/ Man lift/ Crane operation.
