In this role, the employee is expected to provide dedicated electrical controls support for the production team and customer field service events (scheduled maintenance, upgrades, unplanned maintenance, and warranty work) for gas turbine engines and related systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide dedicated electrical support for a single customer field service events (scheduled maintenance, upgrades, unplanned maintenance, and warranty work) for packages and related systems.
• Collaborate with the Field Service team to improve commissioning processes, plan standard work, and develop work scope for new technology.
• Document maintenance activities as required for Field Service Reports.
• Provide controls and electrical support during Test-Line Commissioning and field service events for RPS projects.
• Internal and External customer focal point for all field related electrical/controls problems.

• Provide support to RPS Engineering in the in-house testing of new control system designs and evaluation of improvements related to control system fixes.
• Collaborate with RPS Electrical FSE's, learn the requirements to perform electrical and controls commissioning tasks.
• Sign-off and take accountability for control system commissioning and re-commissioning.
• Be available for on-call support after hours and weekends.
• Travel as needed to support the controls and electrical commissioning of customers refurbished and new engines in multiple geographic areas.
• Support configuration tracking of customer engines.
• Support the customer's and RPS environmental, health, and safety programs.
• Project management responsibilities for customer specific projects. Includes initial feasibility studies, contract definition, commissioning activities, schedule fidelity, subcontractor management, and customer interface.

This person will be responsible for installing and servicing parking access control, vehicle entry systems, and building access control systems in a geographic area that includes Southeastern, Central, and Western Virginia. As a Power Systems Engineer, you will support the full lifecycle of integrated electrical controls projects—including design, development, wiring schematics, PLC programming, protective relay setup, commissioning, and ongoing service.
