Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Support New Business Development

• Provide supply chain information to sales department staff as needed
• Conduct preliminary purchase parts risk assessment
• Provide purchased parts cost and lead time estimates
• Identify and qualify outside manufacturing partners
  

Support Program Launch and Product Realization as functional department representative assigned to team and Program Manager

• Review program information to understand application, product intent and functionality and overall product requirements to ensure customer specifications communicated to suppliers address all needs.
• Review customer specifications and drawings and ensure sufficient to communicate required specifications for purchase parts to suppliers.
• Identify certification, traceability, environmental or other regulatory requirements for all components procured.
• Identify, source and qualify suppliers and negotiate supplier agreements.
• Secure necessary supplier Non-Disclosure Agreements
• Negotiate component costs, lead times, terms and conditions for initial purchases
• Communicate customer requirements and supplier capability
• Confirm supplier warranty terms
• Assist with preparation of Process Flow Diagrams, Failure Mode Effective Analysis and Control Plan
• Assist suppliers with validation protocol design and final approval as required
• Manage and define sample requirements and approve purchased part tooling
• Ensure tool ownership and warranty is defined
• Ensure an understanding of supplier capacity, yield and cost structure
• Complete purchased part and outside process qualifications, approval and submit customer approval forms (CAF)

This includes managing vessel engineering systems, overseeing repairs, coordinating with regulatory bodies, and supervising marine personnel. The role requires strong technical, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in a dynamic maritime environment. The Assistant Port Engineer will be relied upon to make critical and timely decisions that impact safety, cost, and operational readiness.

Essential Functions:

Vessel Maintenance & Repair

• Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on vessels and shoreside equipment.
• Develop and update vessel maintenance programs in collaboration with the Port Engineer.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations and recommend service/repair actions.
• Determine methods, timelines, and costs for vessel repairs.

• Train for 12-14 weeks for the
  American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)/National Board
  training/certification commissions.
• 120 hours of on-the-job training
  with another Inspector to complete training process.
• Perform new construction, repair,
  alteration and jurisdiction inspections of boilers and pressure vessels as
  required by the American Society of Mechanical Engineering Boiler and
  Pressure Vessel Code (ASME Code) Sections III, and National Board Code
  including referenced construction codes and standards of our clients.

• High school diploma and
  equivalent (Military) work experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in
  Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years of boiler and/or
  high-pressure steam & water system maintenance/operation experience
• 4+ years of mechanical experience
  with Boilers and Pressure Vessels in a power plant-Nuke or conventional
  MM/BT, or an SRO and/or a Steam PPWO/EOOW 3+ years
• Navy Nuke EM or ET with a minimum
  of 3yrs qualified SRO experience
• Quality Assurance inspections of
  mechanical equipment, water, and steam systems
• Boiler and/or steam system
  maintenance and operation
• Inspections on mechanical,
  electrical, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems
• NBIC Boiler
  Inspector Qualification a plus
• Insurance inspection service
  experience involving risk-based inspections and analysis
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office
  and web-based applications, Lotus Notes

• Provide technical service support on existing installations, ensuring systems continue to meet existing building occupancy codes and efficient operation requirements.
• Programming and commissioning of Control Systems and integration with other systems related to building automation.
• Be well-versed in multiple controls systems, as they may be on a different site each day based on the service calls that come in on a daily basis.
• Communicate directly with the customer in order to satisfy the needs regarding the specifics of what is required to solve the issue on a particular site.
• Document the services performed on a service call on a FSR (Field Service Report), with details of what the service call consisted of and documentation of whether the call is complete or will require a follow-up visit.
• Replace failed parts, controllers, wire, relays, and devices as required.
• Maintain a good disposition with customers and deal with them in a courteous manner at all times.
• Verify devices, panels, and annunciators of controls projects.
• Ensure timely software backups are created for projects and software development.
• Complete time sheets, service work orders, and other paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely manner.

• You should have good electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical aptitude, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of such equipment and systems as AC/DC motors, industrial controls, compressors, backup generators, etc.
• You should also have a clear ability to work with electronic equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
• The ability to troubleshoot basic electric and electronic circuitry, including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams.
• A working understanding of AC power circuitry, including breakers, multi-phase power, etc. (120VAC).
• You must be comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces, and you must be service-minded and customer-focused.

The Maintenance Electrician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking care of our customers by executing the division's safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives.
